Meditation Meditation is about experiencing a deep state of relaxation and simple awareness. It is a practice which aims to cut out the distractions of everyday life and allows you to look within for peace and tranquillity. Meditation releases tension and negativity from the mind and body allowing you to enter a truly tranquil state from which the body can begin to thoroughly regenerate itself from the inside out. The benefits of meditation are unique to each person, but both physiological and psychological balancing is common.
T'ai Chi T’ai chi is a skill for generating the optimum possible level for lifelong health. Often thought of as a martial art, T’ai Chi is actually a philosophy for the attainment of balance and harmony. The fluid movements are precise and become an art of supreme mental focus and meditative calm. Through the careful nurturing of your body’s energy, the exercise of T’ai Chi can be viewed as a meditation in action, whereby you are able to tune into the elements of nature as you tone the body.
Yoga Yoga combines a dynamic form of physical exercise with a philosophy that can be applied to everyday life. It is an ancient practice, which creates balance between body and mind. You master the art of directing your breathing at various organs of the anatomy, thereby creating a process of healing, while toning the body at the same time. There are several variations of the art. At The BodyHoliday, beginners can learn Hatha Yoga and for those who want to acquire more advanced skills, we also teach Ashtanga Yoga. People of all ages can benefit and learning yoga can be the stepping-stone to a more tranquil inner life.
Pilates
The basis of the Pilates program is to control body alignment and correct breathing through concentration, which will cause more efficient exercise with reduced repetition. No one muscle group is under or over trained. Muscular balance is stressed. Focus is on the lower back, abdomen, and buttocks. The workout may consist of a group mat, an individual program, or combination of both. The program is always tailored to meet personal needs. To maximize results workouts should occur on a regular and frequent basis. Pilates increases flexibility, builds strength and tones muscles without adding bulk.
Stress Management Stress Management classes are designed to help you to come to terms with the things in life that cause you recurring stress. They help you devise the best possible means of dealing with life’s annoyances in a positive way. Holistic activities, like those described above, may be prescribed for you during your holiday and a personalised programme can be drawn up for you to follow when you get home.
