Trevor Laurency

Trevor Laurency loves yoga! He is a fully qualified fitness and holistic instructor with over 17 years of experience. He taught at The BodyHoliday prior to moving to the UK where he currently resides and works as a freelance instructor specializing in the holistic areas. In his role as a freelance Yoga and Fitness Instructor he works with many of the UK's Fitness Clubs, including Holmes Place, David Lloyd, Le Roche, Castle Royle, and Next Generation Clubs. In addition he runs his own classes covering all fitness levels, and gives one on one tuition for specialist needs.


Trevor studied at the Iyengar Yoga Institute in San Francisco and obtained a Master Yoga Diploma. In 2002, he moved on to Polestar Education where he gained his diploma in Yogalates. In more recent times, he furthered his knowledge by studying the British Wheel of Yoga. He went on to study with the British School of Yoga (BSY) and qualified as a Professional Relaxation Therapist. In February 2006 he joined the Independent Yoga Network in the UK as a Registered Yoga Teacher.

 
Trevor has always had a passion for dance, including jazz, tap, salsa, and is an extremely skilled dancer. He teaches dance classes in the UK and has also choreographed many musical shows at locations throughout the Caribbean.


Trevor's Yoga Master Classes include:


Hatha Yoga:


This style encompasses all styles of physical yoga: Asanas (Physical postures) are combined with Pranayama (yogic breathing) to release physical and mental tension encouraging mind and body integration.


Ashtanga Yoga:


This is a dynamic form of Yoga in which the postures are linked into flowing sequences. These improve your flexibility, strength and stamina through this dynamic use of breathing and body heat.


Yogalates:


This is a new highly effective form of exercise that blends the worlds of Yoga and Pilates, encompassing the flexibility, meditative and weight loss elements of Yoga with the muscle strengthening and toning of Pilates.


Yoga and Meditation:


A yoga-based stretch programme which incorporates meditation exercises that will bring the body, mind and soul into a state of balance and harmony.


YogaTone:


This is a totally different method of Ashtanga Yoga which challenges both the mind and body's strength. It is quite an advanced class although the sequences are easy to follow; it helps to tone your body while relaxing your mind.

Salsacise:


A fun salsa based dance routine class to latin sounds.
