Based on the island of Guernsey, Vanessa James is a successful instructor of ballroom, Latin, rock ‘n’ roll, Argentine tango, Zumba® and FitSteps®.
She choreographs dance shows for numerous corporate, charity and island events, with clients such as Specsavers and the GSPCA, as well as running her own school, Danceography, and teaching with the Guernsey Ballroom Dance Club.
For many years Vanessa co-organised the Guernsey Dance Floor Challenge, a popular annual charity competition/event, with Guernsey celebrities partnered by professional dancers.
Recently Vanessa began teaching dance to wheelchair users, and in 2014 Vanessa will be choreographing a performance with wheelchair dancers to celebrate Guernsey’s liberation day.
Vanessa started dancing at an early age, and after a successful amateur competitive career, she turned professional. She holds numerous teaching qualifications, and is passionate about sharing her knowledge and love of dance with others.
When not teaching, Vanessa’s hobbies include horseback riding, dog walking, tap dancing, swimming, skiing and golf.
