Kate Staples

We are pleased to welcome back, Kate Staples. She is remembered by millions as ‘Zodiac’ from the smash hit all-action 90′s TV series ‘Gladiators’. She has also enjoyed a career as a ground breaking GB athlete and is an internationally renowned trainer. Formerly a top class 400m runner, Kate switched to the daunting discipline of pole vault when it became available to female athletes. And over a few years she set more than 40 national, Commonwealth and European records, achieved a world Top 10 ranking and was all set to become an Olympian and a significant star of Track & Field as well as primetime TV. However, everything came to an instantaneous and life threatening halt. An accident on a Gladiators live show resulted in a double neck break. There was a very real chance that Kate could have been facing a lifetime of paralysis. But through an immeasurable level of belief, determination and grueling rehabilitation, Kate defied medical expectations and regained full fitness. She turned her attention to training and inspiring others to get healthy, fit and achieve the kind of body and fitness capabilities they craved. Combining her wealth of athletic experience and expertise with advanced studies and qualifications in the UK and USA, Kate determined to fulfill a vision and goal she set herself whilst immobile and recovering from her broken neck – to establish camps that would recreate the fun, energy, camaraderie and outstanding results. She teamed up with her old friend and undoubtedly one of the greatest athletes of all time – double Olympic decathlon champion Daley Thompson – and established her network of Adventure Fitness Camps which have transformed thousands of bodies in Britain and overseas. In 2013 Kate was invited to co-author a new book, ‘Burn Fat Fast’ with international nutrition guru Patrick Holford. Kate is highly experienced at running fitness camps overseas as well as in the UK and knows exactly what it takes to create the best environment for fun and superb results. Her experiences and credentials are second to none and any camp with Kate is sure to be fun, memorable and highly rewarding.
