1.  Where is the best place to go shopping?
In recent years, the range of shopping available in St.Lucia has become quite extensive. Local craft markets abound everywhere, where you can buy unique gifts and souveniers to take home. In addition, St.Lucia boasts a number of shopping malls containing excellent fashion boutiques and speciality stores. In Castries, the capital city, just 20 mins away, "La Place Carenage" and "Point Seraphine" offer extensive duty free shopping including the best in fine jewellery and perfumes.
2.  What is the temperature like in St. Lucia?
The average high for St. Lucia is about 31 Celsius or 87 Fahrenheit and the lowest temperature is 25 Celsius or 77 Fahrenheit.
3.  What is the weather like during the hurricane season?
St.Lucia is fortunate to be outside the main area of hurricane activity. We have year-round sunshine, although intermittant rain may be experienced from June to November.There is never a shortage of wonderful sun tan inducing weather.
4.  What is there to do outside the Hotel at night?
The BodyHoliday itself provides superb entertainment from some of St. Lucia's most excellent musicians to entertaining shows. A regular, for instance, every week is St.Lucia's top Jazz guitarist Ronald "Boo" Hinkson who has recorded with among others George Benson. However, it's great to explore outside of the hotel and only a short distance away, you can find the Rodney Bay area which is full of nightlife that suits almost every ones desires. There is a eclectic range of bars and restaurants from fine French cuisine to Chinese, Indian and Italian counterparts, not forgetting local Creole food and entertainment. Taxis are readily available upon request; fares are paid directly to the driver. Of couse there are times of year when St.Lucia puts on some great spectacles, and if you are lucky enough to be here; don't miss them! (The St.Lucia Jazz festival (May) is rated in the top 5 music festivals in the world and has featured an amazing line up of artists including, George Benson, Santana, Patti LaBelle, Melba More, Jose Feliciano, Harry Belafonte and many more. And of course - you can never forget ... CARNIVAL! July)
5.  How safe is it venturing out alone?
Quite frankly, there are not many places that you can visit anywhere in the world that are as safe as St.Lucia. However, the wise traveller will always check with the new friends he has found on holiday for advice on the best places to go. It is always best to be careful and street wise.
6.  Are there pubs & clubs to visit at night that are safe for tourists?
The restaurants, pubs and clubs that we spoke of above are perfectly safe. Our concierge will be glad to provide you with details.
7.  Do you have a shop on property?
Yes, we have two boutiques on property, both open from 9 am until 7:00 pm Monday through Saturday. 9:00 am until 5:00 pm on Sundays and Holidays.
8.  What is the most popular season to visit?
Traditionally, in the Caribbean December through May has always been the most popular season. This is to be expected because it offers wonderfull tropical sunshine when North America and Europe are ....chilly. However, it has to be said that St.Lucia is suitable for a holiday at anytime of year and is very popular during the summer months also, particularly with honeymooners. (Did you know, that during the recent World Travel Awards, St.Lucia was voted the World's Number One Honeymoon Destination)
9.  When does the Caribbean get hurricanes?
Traditionally the hurricane season is from June until October however, St.Lucia is located outside of the main hurricane belt due to its southerly lattitude. Most hurricanes occur much further North and St.Lucia is rarely troubled.
10.  When is the Jazz Festival and how far is it from the Hotel?
The Jazz Festivel occurs anually each May. The main stage events are located just about 10 minutes from the hotel. Comprehensive information and imagery can be found at www.stluciajazz.org
11.  Is there anything happening at the resort during Jazz Festival?
In past years, The BodyHoliday's famous Oasis has been a favorite venue for the opening party to launch the festival and in addition, The BodyHoliday at LeSPORT also hosts a few of the fringe stage events. You will also be sure to see a few of the performers at The BodyHoliday as it is always one of the first choices for their accommodation. 12.  Is the hotel safe for a single woman?
Many Travel Agents, both in North America and in the UK, when asked where they would send one of their single female clients invariably come up with The BodyHoliday. Quite simply, this is because it is not only safe but a place where one feels totally at home. The BodyHoliday is not a singles resort but a place where singles and couples integrate perfectly. The team at The BodyHoliday takes great care in looking after single guests in simple ways, for example, regularly hosting "tables comunale" at dinner.
13.  How far is the nearest town?
The town of Gros Islet which incorporates the Rodney Bay area (Marina, shops, restaurants and bars) is five minutes away by car and the capital city of Castries is 20 minutes away.
