Getting to know Leon Taylor

It has been a pleasuring having Olympic Diver Leon Taylor join us for WellFit Families two years in a row.

Leon represented Great Britain in three Olympic Games (1996, 2000 and 2004) bringing home a silver medal in Men’s Synchronized 10 meter platform diving. Other achievements include Silver in the men’s 10 m platform at the 2002 Commonwealth Games (he had won Bronze in 1998), and Bronze in the 10 m synchro at the 1999 European Aquatics Championships. At a national level, Leon held both the 10 m platform and 10 m synchro titles from 1994 to 2006. Leon pushed the envelope on what was possible in diving and even created the most difficult dive in the world.

Since his retirement from diving just prior to the Beijing Olympics in 2008, Leon has focused on his mind and body on the practice of yoga, mentorship and finding balance in his life.

In this blog series, we will get to know Leon Taylor as he talks about his career as an elite athlete, his retirement and recovery from competitive sport and how he achieves balance.
