Healthy Smoothies Part 2

As promised, here is part 2 of the healthy and nutritional smoothie recipes that Doug Swenson, our guest master yogi presenter, prepared for us when he was here for “Octoba Yoga”. If you missed Part 1, please click HERE.

HEALTHY SMOOTHIES PART 2

PRETTY LADY

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cup fresh (Red watermelon)
  • 1 Banana (Peeled and frozen) – Break into one-inch chunks
  • 3 Fresh strawberries
  • 1 mint leaf
  • 2 tsp honey, agave nectar or maple syrup (Optional)
  • 1/3 Cup raw cashews

Instructions:

  • Blend all ingredients in a blender, until creamy smooth.

Top With:

  • 1 Fresh Strawberry, on rim of glass
  • Mint leaf floating on top of smoothie
  • Serve on white plate, with flowers and strawberry hearts (Sliced)
  • Paste flower petals on outside of glass / with honey drop for glue

GREEN POWER MACHINE

Ingredients:

  • 1 Banana (Peeled and frozen) – Break into one-inch chunks
  • ½ Cup papaya
  • ½ Cup pineapple
  • 1 Slice avocado
  • 15 Raw cashews / or 15 almonds / or 2 Tbsp. hemp seed
  • 2 tsp honey, agave nectar or maple syrup
  • 1 Dash of cinnamon powder
  • 1 Cup Apple juice, or juice of choice
  • 1 Cup or more spinach and ½ Cup parsley

Instructions:

  • Blend all ingredients in a blender, until creamy smooth.

Top With:

  • 1 Tbsp. flax seed heart
  • Orange wedge, on rim of glass
  • Cinnamon sprinkle on top of smoothie
  • Serve on white plate with orange twist and parsley sprigs
