Mila, is a professional dancer, choreographer, and fitness presenter as well as a regular Guest Presenter at The BodyHoliday and there is a reason she is consistently asked to return year in year out. She is passionate about giving the guests the best fitness and dance classes they could dream of and she is delighted you are here in beautiful St Lucia.
Mila’s professional dancing career started in Germany. After performing in several musicals she moved to Chicago to develop her skills at the Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Company. After a successful 12 months she returned to Europe to complete her dance degree in The Netherlands.
While dancing was always her passion she also developed a love for fitness. During these formative years she taught classes at several fitness facilities teaching classes such as Aerobics, Step, Street Dancing and Body Conditioning.
In 1996, Mila, alongside two other exceptionally talented dancers, was asked to collaborate with Dutch music producers in order to create a successful trance music project. The group were called Alice DeeJay and they went on to become an internationally recognised trance pop group who would go on to dominate the dance music industry for years to come.
The song reached the top 10 in many European countries and also charted in North America. In the UK, the song went platinum and reached number 2 on the UK Singles Chart, and number 3 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play, also reaching number 25 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Their second single, “Back in My Life”, was equally successful.
The band toured for 3 years and appeared in TV shows such as “Top of the Pop’s”,
MTV Award, TMF Award, Party in the Park London, The Hit Machine in France and they won the Dance Star Award in 2000 beating the likes of Jennifer Lopez.
After touring, Mila went back to her dancing career performing for Artists such as Shaggy, En Vogue, Chaka Khan, Donna Summer, Los del Rio, Chris Brown and Kelly Rowland.
Big musical productions quickly followed such as the first cast of “Thriller Live” in London, where she was trained by Lavell Smith, the choreographer of Michael Jackson.“ A dream come true was when Mila meet Michael Jackson personally after performing at the “World Music Award Show”.
Recently, a high point in her career was dancing at the Opening Ceremony of the London Olympic Games in 2012.
Over the last 10 years Mila has been developing her second career as a Fitness Presenter. Her abilities were recognized in 2006 when she won the Best Fitness First Presenter award in the UK.
In 2016 Mila fronted a global marketing campaign for fitness apparel designers Sweaty Betty, with a Boxing and Fitness workout called ‘Rumble’.
Most recently Mila has joined a fitness boutique company in London, where she developed their own HIIT workout concept. You may also find her presenting at several fitness festivals across the UK; BeFit UK and Balance to name just two.
