About our courses
Led by highly experienced specialists, our tailored BodyYoga courses will help you find the Yoga style that’s right for you, your temperament and your approach to life. Whichever form you choose, it’s good to know that every one leads to the same destination – the union of mind and body.
Yoga and Ayurveda are two interrelated healing disciplines which have their origins in India. Yoga is the spiritual and physical aspect of Ayurveda. Although we tend to think of it as a physical discipline, it is in fact a spiritual practice. At The Body Holiday we combine Yoga’s spiritual aspect with Ayurvedic science to provide you with a unique combination of physical, mental, spiritual and therapeutic benefits.
BodyYoga: our approaches
We combine Yoga and other disciplines in different ways to offer you four broad approaches:
Yoga for body. With the right tuition Yoga can give you everything a gym can – but in a peaceful, safe and more holistic way. It stretches your muscles and helps you to build rock-hard abs, strong arms, toned buttocks, and a strong back and legs. Yoga also enhances flexibility, balance, agility, endurance and overall strength. Many people find it a safe and effective way to alleviate many forms of pain while boosting the ‘feel good’ neurotransmitter, serotonin.
Yoga for mind. The mental attitude and discipline that form part of Yoga training often help people to overcome fear, anger, hatred and attachment. As you practise, the body responds and helps you to soothe your mind and increase concentration.
Yoga for soul. Yoga helps us to look beyond the material world, to experience the self and to feel more at one with nature. Many people find that Yoga helps them to live in total spiritual contentment.
Yoga for diet. Yoga helps us to merge our ‘Western’ ideas of nutrition with Yoga principles to calm the mind and restore balance at all levels. When we feel good in ourselves we attract and bring out the same energy in others. The powerful combination of balanced nutrition and Yoga can promote a strong and healthy body, a stress-free mind, and a positive attitude.
