For nine months of the year, the BodyHoliday welcomes professional practitioners, athletes, dancers, sailors and sports stars to present special programmes. Each month is dedicated to a different theme.
Our special guests include many Olympic champions all started by our good friend Daley Thompson, twice Olympic Gold in the Decathlon in 1980 and 1984 and four times he broke the World Record for the event.
The opportunity and added value to your holiday during any one of these months is phenomenal if you have an interest in the relevant sport or are simply in training to get fit. It’s hard to put a price on the knowledge you can absorb for free!

Spring Sail

You have the opportunity to learn from the best sailors in the world at Spring Sail while luxuriating in a world-class all-inclusive wellness resort. There is something for everyone, from introductory lessons for novice sailors to competitive regattas for more seasoned sailors.
BodyHoliday offers the ideal setup for both the experienced sailor and those just beginning their voyage of discovery around this exhilarating sport. This includes 4 Hobie Cat boats, a J/24, and two X-Treme 26 racing yachts, “Blue” and “Reef.”

Jive June

The Cuban Cha Cha Cha and Salsa, the fiery Argentine Tango, the Caribbean Merengue, American Jive and the energetic Columbian Zumba –dancing has a truly global appeal!
In June 2024 we are once again dedicating a whole month to dance and hoping to inspire more people to take up this amazing exercise and have some fun.
Nineteen daytime dance and dance-fitness classes per week including Zumba, Disco Aerobics, Street Dance, Foxtrot, Dance Step, Hip Hop, AquaDance, Jive, Salsa, Argentine Tango, Merengue, Latin Aerobics, and Cha ChaCha.

Ian Waite

At the age of 17 he won the title of European Latin American Champion. With this accolade under his belt, Ian started to compete all over the world, representing England in many Worlds and European championships.
Ian is probably best known for his role as one of the original professional dancers on The BBC’s hit show Strictly Come Dancing. Having appeared in eight series, he has built up a following of dedicated fans and has become a highly respected and recognisable figure and personality in the world of dance.
After leaving Strictly in 2011 Ian embarked on a new career as a TV presenter and was offered his own segment on Strictly sister show It Takes Two called Waite’s Warm Up. 10 years later with his witty repertoire and on screen chemistry with co host Zoe Ball it has become cult viewing and a favourite for every Strictly fan young and old.
Ian’s talents don’t stop there. He is the Co creator and owner of the dance fitness program Fitsteps with Natalie Lowe and Mark Foster. Fitsteps now has over 1000 instructors across the world, and is completely available online.
Jennifer Benavidez

Jennifer is an international dance instructor based in Henleyon-Thames, UK. She has taught, performed and competed in front of thousands. She danced salsa on the ‘Strictly ComeDancing’ 2016 Launch Show, BBC 1’s ‘The Truth About GettingFit’ with Michael Mosley and is a regular on BBC Radio Berkshire. She teaches at numerous dance holidays, festivals, congresses, and coaches at Reading University. She recently won ‘Top Teacher’ at the San Francisco Bachata Dance Festival. Many of her students have gone on to performing, competing and teaching in dance. Jennifer is fun, friendly, and patient! Two left feet? No problem! Her 20 years of experience will get your feet and hips moving in the right direction.

Curtis is not just a dancer; he's also an advocate for mental health awareness and body positivity, using his platform to inspire others. His journey is a testament to passion, perseverance, and authenticity, leaving an enduring impact on the world of entertainment.
Curtis discovered his passion for dance at a young age, influenced by his parents, who were competitive dancers. With his brother, AJ Pritchard, also a professional dancer, Curtis began training rigorously in ballroom, Latin, and other dance styles, quickly establishing himself as a formidable talent.

WellFit Tribes

WellFit Tribes is a family-based Fitness month that encompasses all aspects of the resort. You can expect to; develop your physical fitness, strength and stamina with our unique Beach Boot Camps instructed by visiting Olympians, gain mental focus and clarity through Yoga presented by International Teachers and learn new skills such as first aid CPR, basic sailing and even healthy cooking.
Take a walk on the wild side and challenge yourself on the obstacles of our brand new outdoor fitness trail or even take the ultimate challenge of the BodyHoliday Quadrathlon. Combine your week’s training and competitive spirit with the final event; the Saturday afternoon Family versus Staff Beach tournament. Well-Fit Tribes has it all!
This fun-packed week will bring a sense of cohesion and family spirit felt by everyone who attends.

Tyree Washington is a Former NFL Player, 400m World Champion in Track and Field, 3-Time Hall of Fame Inductee, 2-Time Fastest man in the world, 3-Time USA National Champion in the 400m and CE0/Founder of Athletes vs Asthma. Tyree‘s favourite quote for everyone is “Destiny can be delayed but not denied”. He shares that in life you may encounter people and things that may slow you down from reaching your destination, but those people and things will never stop you from reaching your destination.
Lee Mears

Approaching his 10th year as an Executive Coach, Lee’s previous career and experience comes from the world of elite sport. Lee played 16 years of professional rugby representing Bath, England and the British and Irish Lions. His obsession with continual learning has led him down the path of exploration and into some of the most elite environments. Ranging from sport, military, or the world of business. He loves to discuss, share and build to create best practices.
When not working as an Executive Coach, Lee is Co-founder of a Wellness app called T-cup and he sits on the board and is an ambassador for charities such as the Wooden Spoon, British Heart Foundation, Cardiac Risk in the Young and Bath Rugby Foundation. Whilst raising money for the Wooden Spoon, Lee has managed to achieve two Guinness World Records, one playing the Northernmost game of rugby at the North Pole and one playing the highest-ever rugby game at Everest.

Angie Akers is alumnae of the University of Notre Dame where she played Indoor Volleyball for four years.
In 2002, Akers began competing in Professional Beach Volleyball and became the AVP Rookie of the Year. In 2009, she competed on the FIVB World Tour where she finished the season ranked fifth in the world and was awarded FIVB Rookie of the Year.
In 2015, Angie moved to the Netherlands and began coaching for the Dutch women’s Beach National Team as a federation coach. Angie brings a wide range of coaching experience, as she led her Dutch team to the 2016 Rio Games. She served as 2021 Tokyo Olympics Head Coach for USA’s April Ross and Alix Klineman, who took home the gold medal.

Tina is the founder of The Nutrition Guru Nutrition & Health clinical practice. She has worked as a registered qualified nutritionist for 20 years, working with a number of high-profile medical practices in Harley Street and the world-renowned Lanserhof Medical Clinic. She also has a corporate wellness programme and works with companies such as Google, Investec, Trustpilot and many more. The month of September has become known as September Solos. The retreat is designed to offer the best elements of health, well-being and fun with other like-minded solo travellers. Anthony is Ireland’s leading Health and Fitness Instructor and founder of The Well Fit Method with over 20 years’ experience worldwide in his field. He has achieved a body of qualifications and built several successful gyms throughout his career and played Roller-hockey and Taekwondo for Ireland and Tennis & Soccer at County Level.
Master coach Anthony is also the co-founder of Edufit, helping people starting their career in the fitness industry develop a best in class offering.

Jason Gardner MBE stands as one of the United Kingdom's preeminent sprinters, etching his name in athletic history with remarkable achievements. His illustrious career culminated in a gold medal triumph in the 4x100m relay at the Athens Olympics in 2004, a year that also saw him crowned World Indoor Champion over 60m. A sprinting virtuoso, Gardner holds the distinction of having completed the 100m dash in under 10 seconds, firmly placing him among the elite few who have achieved such a feat.
Gardner's influence extends beyond the field, with a wealth of experience in the sports industry and media. His notable contributions include a series of articles for the Sunday Telegraph and broadcast reporting for esteemed networks such as the BBC, ITV West, and Channel 4. In the realm of sport consultancy, Gardner has collaborated with renowned entities such as Red Bull, City Football Group, Puma, University of Bath, Bath Rugby, Cardiff Rugby and Body Holiday.

BodyHoliday transforms into the ultimate yoga retreat in October, making it a truly restorative getaway. The month-long program of activities, directed by seasoned teachers, offers limitless lessons from sunrise to sunset, featuring Hatha, Ashtanga, Shanthi, and Katti yoga and meditation classes. It is intended for everyone from beginners to more experienced practitioners. The vacation also includes a variety of unique massage and therapeutic treatments at The Wellness Centre, as well as a special menu of yogic foods and teas served at restaurants throughout the resort.

Finlay Wilson, otherwise known as the ‘Kilted Yogi’, has over 100 million worldwide views of his videos from the original Kilted Yoga video on BBC The Social. Kilted Yoga, Yoga Laid Bare was released as a book in October 2017 and has been attracting people's attention to yoga, Scotland and a healthier way of being and thinking. He is a certified Yoga teacher, and Senior Yoga Alliance teacher based in Dundee and in 2011 he founded Heart Space Yoga & Bodyworks, a charity organisation that works with children and various outreach groups allowing him to channel his passion for working with young people and those who may not usually have access to yoga. He has completed over 2000 hours of training with Yoga Certification Programmes along with over 1000 hours of Ashtanga and Vinyasa training. He leads classes all over the world, creates content for the BBC, blogs, and records online yoga classes through Youtube and other online providers.

Brian is a 500-hour certified yoga instructor and personal trainer with 14 years of experience in the health and fitness industry. He has an educational background in Kinesiology where he developed a passion for human movement and the wonders of the human body. Through his own development in the practice of yoga he adopted a holistic perspective of health and wellness, which he now shares with his students and clients.
Brian’s classes incorporate traditional yoga techniques and conscious movement practices that provide an experience both deeply revealing and transformative for the body and mind. Blending ancient wisdom with a contemporary perspective, his offerings are broad and include: yoga and aerial yoga practice, breath practice, meditation, posture and movement coaching, ayurvedic assessment and consultation, massage, energy healing and deep relaxation techniques.
